It is well-known that the oil and gas industry has had a significant presence in the Permian Basin of West Texas for decades.  Just as with other oil/gas rich areas, pipeline construction is a large part of the industry and many of these companies have long realized the safety and cost benefits of hydro-excavation / hydro-vac excavation.  In addition to pipeline construction, hydro-excavation is used heavily at numerous plants and refineries in the area.  Many of these plants and refineries are now mandating the use of hydro-excavation technology during upgrades as well as for routine maintenance.
